State of the nation picture of foster care provision in England

Ofsted published a report on foster care provison statistics. Key findings include: more children and young people were being supported in forster care there were fewer fostering households overall, but more family and friends households more young people remained living with their foster carer after their 18th birthday more children were recorded as missing from placements and going missing more often To download the report please click here.

The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) published a report with information on the numbers of children's social care providers and places as at 31 March 2015. Changes to the Guide - Children's Homes Quality Standards

The Children's Homes and Quality Standards Partnership have advised the following news: DfE have updated the Guide, making some very minor amendments to spelling and fixing some web links that were broken or out of date. A small amendment has also been made to the Qualifications table in Annex A (Page 69), so that registered persons can establish whether social work qualifications are equivalent to the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
