ADCS issued a new position paper that explores the impact of austerity policies on the function of Children's Services nationwide and on the welfare of the children. The paper discusses the links between poverty and demand for more intense presences of statutory services. Finally, argues that poverty constraints people's opportunities and calls for collective action that can drive change to achieve a country that works for all children. NICE revises the guidelines on Child Abuse and Neglect by running a public consultation with diverse stakeholders. As the numbers of childern suffered abuse and/or neglect over the last years have raised NICE started reviewing the guidelines to help professionals in social care, education, medical centres, custodial settings etc. to recognise signs of abuse even at early stages. The Department for Education has updated its Working Together child safeguarding guidance to reflect the changes made by the government to the statutory definition of child sexual exploitation after concluding that the previous version was "unclear and out of date".
